Niniola Apata announces return to music after mourning husband

Months after publicly mourning the death of her husband, popular Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has announced her return to the music scene, bringing back the energy and vibrancy she is known for.

The songstress had taken a break from performing following the death of her husband and manager, Michael Ndika, which she described as untimely. She openly shared her grief with fans, speaking about how much she missed her husband and how difficult it had been to move on, describing him as her everything.

Niniola announced her return on Friday through her official Instagram page, where she shared a video of herself performing at an event at the University of Ibadan.

She wrote, “There are no words for moments like this, but I know he’d want me to keep singing, to keep showing up and to keep sharing the gift we both believed in.

“Thank you, everyone, who has carried me with their love, prayers and support”.

The Grammy-nominated singer said her return to the stage would be marked by a renewed sense of gratitude and energy.

“I’m walking on stage with a full heart, grateful spirit and his love with me every step of the way. Nini is back!!!” she added.

Niniola was recently spotted at an event organised by her sister, Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, a development that had hinted at her gradual return to public life and music. Fans subsequently flooded the comment section of her latest post with messages of excitement and support.
