Ododo praises Ondo APC Gov’ship Primary, says conduct was orderly
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election committee in Ondo, Governor Ahmed Ododo, has praised participants and members of the party for what he called orderly conduct.
He also commended the enormous turnout of voters in the shadow election held to choose the party’s candidate for the governorship in November.
A statement by Hon.Ismail Isah, who is the Special Adviser on Media to the Kogi Governor, said that the Governor made the commendation after reviewing reports from election committee members, law enforcement, and other interested parties who observed the election’s conduct in various locations across the state’s eighteen local government areas.
He said: “I have received reports from our committee members and security agencies as well as NGOs monitoring the election including video footages and I can say that the process has been transparent and we are going to produce a candidate that will unify the APC ahead of the November, 2024 governorship election in the State.”
Ododo said that the primary poll were held as planned despite certain areas experiencing a delay in the delivery of election materials.
In addition, he expressed confidence that the issues identified in the revalidated membership list would not significantly affect the primary election’s outcome. He emphasized that the committee is directed by the APC’s guidelines for candidate nomination for general elections as well as pertinent provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022.
