Okpebholo appoints veteran broadcaster Alenkhe EBS Managing Director

The Edo State Government has appointed veteran broadcaster and journalist, Festus Alenkhe, as the substantive Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).

The appointment, approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo, takes immediate effect, according to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, on September 21, 2026.

Alenkhe, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, and Chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross, Edo State Branch, brings extensive experience in journalism, broadcasting and public service to the position.

Before his appointment as substantive Managing Director, he served as Acting Managing Director of EBS, where the government said he demonstrated leadership and commitment to the growth and development of the broadcasting service.

The government said the appointment was aimed at strengthening the leadership and professional capacity of EBS, while improving service delivery to residents of Edo State.
