Open letter to President Donald Trump

DECLARING NIGERIA A “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN” IS COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE AND POTENTIAL RISKS FOR PEACE IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN.  

Sir, Nigerians, including this writer have applauded your ascendance to White House for second time in office, even against all odds, particularly the challenge of ‘establishment’ in America politics who arrogantly hold belief that it’s their prerogative to always identify and chose for the Americans in each electoral cycle, who would-be president.

You totally put them wrong by dusting them all!

Since your return to White House, millions of Your Excellency’s admirers around the globe particularly Nigerians, have taken notice of your decisive stance in Russian-Ukraine prolonged war, as well as your recent unwavering commitment in bringing to a close the historical war between the Lord’s anointed-Israel and Hamas.

Nigerians indeed acknowledged that you’ve have put the plug on the destructive tendency on Vladimir Putin’s desire to wipe out the Ukraine state from the earth’s surface, a development that perhaps could have snowballs into 3rd world war.

Nigerians are absolutely convinced that you do have the capacity to ensure that peace ultimately reigns supreme between the two countries.

People of this great country-Nigeria are equally thoroughly impressed at your unusual wisdom and tact in diplomatically managing the outrageous and festering crisis between the Israel and Hamas, a frightening war that was already rocking the entire world to its foundation before you intervened, a timely intervention that has restored peace & orderliness in Gaza, and more importantly, reduced the undue tension across the globe.

Meanwhile, with the above unprecedented accomplishments, Nigerian people are deeply convinced that Your Excellency was truly deserving of 2025 Nobel Laureate Award that was awarded to Maria Corina Machado for her tireless work in promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.

But, comparing your achievements-which indeed have global implications with Maria Machado’s accomplishments only in Venezuela, the global community, including millions of your admirers in Nigeria knew better!

The crux of this Piece therefore remains: If you have labored so much to ensure and foster peace around the globe, committing American fortunes, as well as your personal resources, in terms of time and logistics, how come you are planning to inflict chaos, disorderliness and anarchy in Nigeria- an acknowledged strategic business and strategic all & partner of America, and other democratic countries of the world.

For emphasis, Nigerian remains the centerpiece and heartbeat of the African continent, where Your Excellency is a cult-hero and commands huge and massive influence and respect, and importantly, has die-hard followership.

Your Excellency, Nigeria is an amazing country with a population of about 240 million, with more than 300 ethnic groups, co-existing and co-habiting in harmony and unity since 1914 amalgamation of southern and northern protectorates.

Nigeria, a country, populated with incredibly hardworking, focus, resilient, liberal, relentless people, always undeterred and unwavering in forging ahead against odds and challenges, where Muslims and Christians almost in equal percentage, cohabit seamlessly, remains not only the giant of Africa, but, heartbeat and engine room of African continent.

Your Excellency, how come the American state under your watch is making spirited and calculated attempts at breaching the peace in Nigeria, ultimately precipitating chaos, pandemonium, and anarchy with the plan of the American Department of War to invade her?

By Your Excellency’s globally acknowledged efforts at brokering peace and ensuring orderliness in all the nooks and crannies of the world, a statesmanship initiative that your administration have succinctly demonstrated in the thorny and very challenging cases of Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Hamas, Middle-East, China-Taiwan, you’ve been noted as Vanguard of orderliness and Broker of Peace, and not one who inflicts pains, tribulations and hopelessness at homes in other countries, more so, Nigeria, where you have millions of admirers.

Your Excellency, this writer would like to confirm that Nigeria’s 2027 general election is close and members of opposition groups-particularly, the key figures who have been major participants in the previous corrupt and very discredited administrations, have clearly discovered that they’ve completely lost out in the power game, and their chances of bidding for the topmost office in the country is dwindling and evaporating by the day.

To their consternation, they’ve also found out that the political parties they intend to deploy as platforms to contest the election have been rejected by the generality of Nigerians.

Consequent upon this, this group has therefore resolved to deploy the tools of falsehoods, blatant lies and propaganda to destabilize the ruling party, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group has sufficiently paid and remunerated consultants around the globe specifically recruited for the project of destabilizing the ruling party through any means, whatsoever. 

Your Excellency, it’s the unwholesome and untoward enterprise of the agent of this group that might have filtered unto you, in form of misconception, misinformation and blatant lies and falsehood concerning Nigerian state, to warrant your administration to declare Nigeria as a “country of particular concern”

It’s never true that there is genocide on Christians in Nigeria. It’s a lie from the pit of hell!

Your Excellency, it’s also instructive to bring it to your notice and attention that this group and enemy of Nigerian progress have severally clamored for military intervention in their quest to truncate our democracy, and their inglorious efforts almost manifested, with the recent ABORTED coup attempt of the military adventurers to topple Nigeria democracy under the purposeful, focus, developmental, resourceful and visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

As I put up this Piece, the suspected military officers and their sponsors are currently cooling their heels in the military interrogation room and would ultimately be charged, if found guilty.

Your Excellency, this writer hereby affirm that Nigeria presently has a president who has implemented strategic economic and developmental reforms for the growth, development and prosperity of the Nigerian state.

His administration has committed humongous resources in restoring the nation’s territorial integrity that was hitherto lost to criminalities, Boko Haram and other religious fundamentalists, and banditry.

The administration has ensured and continually promotes unity, and harmony, as well as peaceful co-existence amongst the diverse ethnic groups, and Christians and Muslims across the country.

It’s equally important to bring it to Your Excellency’s attention that presently in Nigeria today, the resounding and respected voices, as well as most acknowledged voices in Christendom are Pastor E.O. Adeboye, the General Overseer, RCCG, Pastor William Kumuyi, General Overseer, Deeper Life Ministry, Pastor Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer, Mountain of Fire Ministry, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, General Overseer, TREM, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, General Overseer, Christ Embassy, Pastor Adefarasin of House on the Rock, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, General Overseer, (KICC) London and Nigeria, Bishop David Oyedepo, General Overseer, Living Faith Church Worldwide and Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Day Star Christian Ministry.

The above clergymen control more than 95% of Christian’s faithful across Nigeria. None, whatsoever would ever submit that there is genocide against Christians in Nigeria. And, these are widely respected clergy men that get letters of invitation from federal and state governments to minister during government programs from time to time.

Can anyone cry more than the bereaved?

Your Excellency, if you doubt my above submission, you are at liberty to invite all of them, and even individually, to White House for an interactive session concerning the relationship amongst the Christians and Muslims in Nigeria.

Your Excellency, what Nigeria administration and the entire Nigerian people need from America government are the followings:

1.    Maximum support, in form of modern war equipment and ammunitions to further neutralize and degrade the insurgency, banditry and religious sects

2.    Assistance in form of military aids and grants to continually protect and fortify Nigerian territorial integrity.

3.    Collaboration with the Nigerian government to ensure that the African continent as a whole enjoys democratic government.

4.    Of course, provide technical know-how and training, in the form of contemporary military skills and capacity to Nigerian members of Armed Forces-Army, Air force, Navy.

5.    Discountenance in totality the falsehoods, misconception and misrepresentation of facts by government adversaries and members of opposition groups.
