Osun 2026: Adeleke’s recent outbursts reflect election anxiety, says Oyebamiji
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent public remarks reflect what he described as growing anxiety ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, made the assertion on Thursday while speaking with journalists during his campaign. He urged the governor to refrain from comments and actions he said could undermine constituted authorities, particularly President Bola Tinubu.
The APC candidate also condemned what he described as unguarded remarks directed at leaders and members of the party, insisting that the APC would not tolerate statements he considered disrespectful to its leadership.
“I feel sorry for the governor because he knows he is already losing. I want to advise him to start packing his luggage because it is obvious he is jittery. We have visited 27 local government areas and the people have shown us overwhelming support. They are yearning for a new governor and they have embraced the APC,” Oyebamiji said.
He said the support received during the party’s campaign tour across the state had strengthened his confidence that the APC would emerge victorious and that he would be elected governor.
Oyebamiji also urged residents to remain peaceful before, during and after the election, stressing the need for a free, fair and credible poll.
He thanked supporters for their backing, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory when voters go to the polls on August 15.
