Over 50 editors set to inspect federal projects across South-East

The South-East edition of the Renewed Hope National Media Tour is set to commence on Saturday, June 13, with a five-day inspection of key federal government projects across the region.

According to a statement issued on Friday by Tunde Rahman, Director of Media and Publicity, Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the tour is being organised in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team to showcase projects and programmes implemented under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The exercise will begin in Ebonyi State and conclude in Imo State on June 17, with more than 50 editors and journalists from across the country expected to participate.

Rahman said the media engagement would feature inspections of ongoing and completed projects, stakeholder consultations, media interactions and discussions on national development initiatives.

“The five-day media engagement will bring together over 50 editors and journalists from across Nigeria for an extensive tour designed to showcase the achievements, ongoing projects and developmental strides of the administration of President Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

He added that the tour would cover all five South-East states — Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia and Imo.

Explaining the objective of the initiative, Rahman said: “The Renewed Hope National Media Tour remains a unique platform for promoting factual reporting, strengthening government-media relations and providing Nigerians with firsthand information on the impact of policies and programmes being implemented across the country.”

The South-East tour follows a similar exercise recently conducted in the North-West, where more than 70 editors and government officials inspected major federal intervention projects.

Among the projects visited were the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway project, the Kebbi corridor of the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, the Kaduna Western Bypass, irrigation projects in Jigawa State and ecological intervention projects in the Wujuwuju-Jakara area of Kano State.

Rahman noted that the media tour serves as a strategic platform for enhancing public awareness of government projects and fostering greater transparency in governance. He said the initiative enables journalists to independently assess the progress and impact of federal government interventions across the country.
