OyoSUBEB denies involvement in Common Entrance exam leakage

The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has denied allegations linking it to the reported leakage of results from the recently concluded Common Entrance Examination in the state.

The allegation was reportedly made during a programme on a radio station in Ibadan, prompting the board to issue a statement distancing itself from the claim.

In response, the board, under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, described the allegation as false and misleading and said it could damage the reputation of the board and its officials.

According to the board, it had no involvement in the conduct, setting, production or handling of questions for the Common Entrance Examination, describing any attempt to link its officials to the alleged leakage as unfounded.

The board further directed anyone with complaints or concerns about the conduct, administration or outcome of the examination to the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which it identified as the appropriate authority.

It also urged media organisations to verify information before publishing or broadcasting allegations against public institutions, stressing the importance of accuracy, fairness and proper fact-checking.

The board warned that defamatory statements, false allegations or continued smear campaigns against Adeniran or the board could attract legal action, adding that it would pursue lawful remedies to protect its reputation.

Meanwhile, OYOSUBEB said it remained committed to strengthening basic education in Oyo State and urged the public to disregard the allegation and rely on verified information from the appropriate authorities.
