PHOTO NEWS: Nigeria Industrial Policy 2025 officially unveiled by Vice-President Shettima
Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday officially launched the Nigeria Industrial Policy 2025 on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a charge to relevant ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to ensure its speedy implementation.
Speaking at the event, Shettima described the policy as a strategic roadmap aimed at re-engineering Nigeria’s industrial base, unlocking value across key sectors and placing production, competitiveness and job creation at the centre of the nation’s economic agenda.
He noted that the policy has already established a clear implementation architecture, stressing that public policies often fail not at conception but at the execution stage.
The Vice-President urged government institutions to prioritise coordination and effective delivery to achieve the objectives outlined in the document.
He observed that Nigeria has long struggled with fragmented value chains, high production costs, infrastructure deficits, policy inconsistency and weak synergy between government and industry.
According to him, the new industrial policy is designed to address these long-standing challenges and reposition the country for sustainable industrial growth.
