Tinubu arrives Yenagoa on one-day visit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, on a one-day working visit to commission key infrastructure—including major road and power projects in the state.

The visit is aimed at boosting infrastructure development, improving electricity supply, and supporting economic growth, especially for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Among the major projects set for inauguration are the Yenagoa–Gbaramatu road, the 630-metre Angiama–Oporoma bridge, and the Sagbama–Ekeremor road.

Ahead of the president’s arrival, Governor Duoye Diri declared Friday a public holiday in parts of the state and ordered market closures, alongside heightened security measures to ensure smooth movement across Yenagoa and surrounding areas.

The projects, described as “legacy infrastructure,” are expected to improve connectivity across Bayelsa State and make transport and business activities easier, especially in riverine communities where access has long been a challenge.
