JUST IN: Tinubu, Gov. Diri, Jonathan commission 630-meter Angiama–Oporoma bridge in Bayelsa

President Bola Tinubu and Governor Douye Diri have commissioned the 630-meter Angiama–Oporoma Bridge in Bayelsa State on Friday.
Also in attendance is former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience alongside Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other top government officials at the commissioning ceremony.
Other projects expected to be inaugurated by President Tinubu include the Yenagoa–Gbaramatu Road and the Sagbama–Ekeremor Road.
The commissioning event will also feature the inauguration of a 60-megawatt gas turbine Independent Power Project, designed to significantly boost electricity supply in the state.
As part of his itinerary, President Tinubu is also expected to engage with key stakeholders in Bayelsa, particularly in the oil and gas sector, where he is expected to reiterate his administration’s commitment to enhancing national security and increasing Nigeria’s oil production to over two million barrels per day.
Ahead of the President’s arrival, Governor Diri declared Friday a public holiday and ordered the closure of markets, alongside heightened security measures to ensure smooth movement within Yenagoa and surrounding areas.
