Tinubu celebrates Aig-Imoukhuede at 60, Holloway over TIME100 Art recognition
President Bola Tinubu has celebrated businessman and philanthropist Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede on his 60th birthday while congratulating the Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Olugbile Holloway, on his inclusion in the inaugural TIME100 Art list.
Tinubu, in separate messages issued on Thursday, described Aig-Imoukhuede as one of a generation of Nigerians who had taken bold bets on the country and demonstrated that Nigerian institutions could compete at the highest levels.
The President highlighted Aig-Imoukhuede’s tenure as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank, which began in 2002, noting that he led the bank through a period of significant growth.
Aig-Imoukhuede is currently Chairman of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group. He has also served as President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, founding Chairman of FMDQ Securities Exchange and Co-Chairman of EnterpriseNGR.
The President commended Aig-Imoukhuede and his wife, Ofovwe, for their work through the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, particularly in public service development, capacity building and healthcare.
On Holloway, the President congratulated the NCMM director-general for being named among the 100 people recognised in the inaugural TIME100 Art list for shaping the future of art.
Tinubu said the recognition reflected efforts by Holloway and the commission to recover Nigeria’s cultural treasures and strengthen institutions responsible for preserving the country’s heritage.
Since his appointment in March 2024, Holloway has worked with the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, on a framework for the retrieval, conservation and exhibition of returned Benin artefacts.
