Tinubu celebrates wife, First Lady Oluremi, at 65

Kunle Sanni –

President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to his wife, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 65th birthday today, describing her as his “steadying anchor” whose compassion and resilience have impacted millions of Nigerians.

In a personal message, the President praised the First Lady’s role in his political journey and public service, recalling her support during years of struggle, exile, and leadership. He said her “quiet strength and enduring grace” had been central to his life.

“You are more than my wife. You are my confidant, counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path,” Tinubu wrote. He added that their children and grandchildren see “compassion and faith” in her, while the nation sees “the true strength of womanhood: resolute yet tender, humble yet unshakably firm.”

The President also commended the sacrifices she has made away from the public eye, noting that Nigeria “owes her more than many would ever know.”

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who represented Lagos Central in the Senate for three terms before becoming First Lady in 2023, has championed causes including youth empowerment, women’s development, and education through her Renewed Hope Initiative.

Marking the milestone, President Tinubu expressed gratitude for her love and companionship, wishing her joy, peace, and fulfilment in the years ahead.
