Tinubu’s industrialisation agenda driving jobs, innovation, says information minister
The federal government says President Bola Tinubu’s industrialisation drive under the Renewed Hope Agenda is beginning to yield tangible results through projects, job creation, innovation and expanded economic opportunities across the country.
Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation, said this on Tuesday during the Presidential Media Team Tour of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) headquarters in Abuja.
Idris said the National Renewed Hope Media Tour was introduced to enable Nigerians to directly assess projects and programmes being implemented by the Tinubu administration.
“We want Nigerians to see for themselves how government policies are being translated into tangible projects, jobs, innovation and opportunities. Transparency is strengthened when government institutions actively engage the public, while accountability is enhanced when citizens can independently verify progress,” he said.
The minister described NASENI as a key institution driving Nigeria’s industrial transformation through science, engineering and technology, noting that its interventions span local manufacturing, renewable energy, agricultural mechanisation, digital technology and skills development.
According to him, the Tinubu administration is pursuing an economic strategy centred on innovation, local value addition and industrial competitiveness to reduce dependence on imports.
“Our vision is clear: to move Nigeria from being primarily a consumer nation to becoming a nation of producers, innovators and exporters,” Idris said.
He added that the Renewed Hope Agenda places industrialisation, technology and youth empowerment at the heart of the country’s economic transformation by creating an enabling environment for investment, enterprise and sustainable job creation.
