Wale Ajani emerges Accord Party Oyo Central Senatorial District candidate

Former Director General of the Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja and Lagos, Hon. Wale Ajani, has emerged as the Accord Party candidate for the Oyo Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ajani secured the party’s ticket following the conclusion of the Accord Party primary election held on Thursday across Oyo State. The exercise was conducted in line with the party’s constitutional guidelines and democratic procedures.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission monitored the primary election alongside top leaders of the Accord Party in the state. Among those present were the Accord State Chairman, Prince Kolade Ojo, the State Secretary, Hon. Yinka Dairo, and other party officials.
The results from across the state were later collated at Zotan Hall, Jericho, Ibadan, where Ajani was formally declared winner and returned as the party’s senatorial candidate for Oyo Central.
Party stakeholders described his emergence as a major boost for the Accord Party as preparations intensify for the forthcoming senatorial election in the district. They expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen the party’s chances in the contest.
Speaking shortly after his declaration, Ajani appreciated party leaders, delegates, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him. He described the outcome of the primary as a reflection of the unity within the party and its collective determination to achieve its political goals.
Ajani also urged party members to remain united and committed toward securing victory at the polls. According to him, he is prepared to provide purposeful leadership and quality representation for the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District if elected into office.
The former aide to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde said his experience as pioneer National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, alongside his service in different capacities at various levels of government, had adequately prepared him for legislative responsibilities. He also pledged to run a policy-driven and people-centred campaign focused on the interests and aspirations of residents of the district.
