Tinubu’s performance enough to keep him in office for 8 years- DG, GMT

Director General of the  Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT), Hon. Bisi Yusuff, has said the performance and achievements of President Bola Tinubu are enough to keep him in office for eight years, saying that there is no amount of conspiracy can defeat him in 2027 general elections.

Speaking in a recent media interview, Yusuff noted that Nigerians maybe complaining of tough time but that there was no how the president would not take tougher measures to put right what had gone wrong, adding ” Before President Tinubu came to power, the economy of Nigeria was in jeopardy and urgently requires a surgical operation and that has been performed. The operation is healing up but during the process of healing, Nigerians need to experience one form of pain or the other”.

The DG stated ” There was a time in this country the government borrowed foreign currencies to finance our local currency. We pretended that the Naira is strong enough. But today, under President Tinubu, the Naira is stable. It needs a very courageous man to take such bold decisions. We had two forex markets but today it’s just one. When the pump price was N250, the product was scarce and you’ll spend days at the fuel station. In some cases, you’ll have to bribe the fuel attendants before you could get the product but today at N850, you’ll just drive in with ease and buy the commodity.

” The administration of President Tinubu is rebuilding the economy. He is building an economy that is self-enduring and stable. He is a mind builder. Look at what he did with the removal of the fuel subsidy. That was a very bold decision. I know it is very painful to some people especially to those that benefitted from the subsidy fraud. Yes, the consequence is biting hard on Nigerians, the government is channeling the proceed of the subsidy removal to NELFund, building infrastructure amenities and other social interventions.

“So, President Bola Tinubu is stimulating the economy and because of that people are getting more enlightened. By the special grace of God, Lagos state will surprise the entire nation in this coming election. So also, the West, South-South, the North and the entire country. When we talk about winning the north, we are not talking about the north as a monopoly. Some parts of the north are in our fold. So it is safe to say that GMT is winning the entire north because we are dominant”.

Yusuff said President Tinubu has been stimulating the economy for the benefits of all Nigerians, saying ” This is why he is bringing in foreign investors to create opportunities for Nigerians. I can only advise him to continue with what he is doing and not to allow distractions from naysayers and social media politicians”.

Speaking on the group’s preparedness for the 2027 general elections, Yusuff explained that they have been sensitizing the grassroots on the achievements of the President since inception in office, saying the response has been impressive.

” We are called Grassroots Movement because we target votes at the grassroots and the elites. Many of the elites don’t usually vote. On election day, many of them stayed glued to their televisions, they don’t vote. But the GMT goes into their ranks, into the markets and the nooks and crannies of the community to bring them out to perform their civic responsibilities.

“No PVC is superior to another. The PVC of a beggar on the street is the same as that of a millionaire. This is why we are penetrating the grassroots and the response we are getting has been impressive because we are creating awareness on what the Tinubu government is doing”, said Yusuff.
