Actress Kate Henshaw speaks on drifting apart from Genevieve Nnaji

Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has revealed that her once-close relationship with fellow actress Genevieve Nnaji gradually faded over time.

Henshaw made the disclosure during an appearance on the “Tea With Tay” podcast, where she reflected on their friendship and how communication between them slowly diminished.

According to the actress, both women used to share a strong bond and often attended events together during their years in the movie industry before the relationship became distant. “We grew apart. We were close and we used to go to events together and then there was that gap. I don’t know what happened, I don’t know what came over her but hey, I moved on,” she said.

The remarks echoed comments Henshaw made in 2023, when she hinted that Genevieve often withdrew from people around her despite the absence of any major disagreement between them.

At the time, she said, “Genevieve, we have had our issues but not big issues. I have loved her. You know sometimes she pulls away. She pulls away from everybody.”

Henshaw added that she has accepted that relationships evolve with time, noting that different people come into one’s life for different reasons and seasons. She compared relationships to roots, branches and leaves, explaining that while some connections remain permanent, others naturally fade with time.

Genevieve Nnaji, one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actresses, has largely stayed away from public appearances and social media activities in recent years.

In 2022, the actress deleted all posts on her Instagram page and unfollowed everyone on the platform, a move that triggered widespread speculation online about her wellbeing.
