Tinubu calls for unity, tolerance after Eid prayers

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance, and national unity, urging citizens to rise above discrimination and ethnic divisions.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday shortly after the Eid prayers held at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Lagos State, the President reflected on the significance of the season and its lessons for society.
He said the period should serve as a reminder for citizens to show compassion and generosity toward one another, stressing the need for peaceful coexistence.
“We thank Him for His mercy, and we must learn from the lessons of this season by showing love to one another. No discrimination, no ethnicity, no hatred,” Tinubu said.
He further urged Nigerians to act in ways that reflect shared humanity and national values, adding that tolerance and adherence to lawful conduct remain essential for a stable society.
“It is essential that we remain tolerant, obedient to the will of Allah, and obedient to the rule of law, which must guide our society,” he added.
