Accord, APC, PDP coalition will deliver Osun to Tinubu, says Adeleke

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed confidence that the coalition of Accord, All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structures in the state will deliver an overwhelming victory for President Bola Tinubu in the January 2027 presidential election.

Adeleke spoke on Thursday during the inauguration of the Osun State Presidential Campaign Council for Tinubu’s re-election, describing the coalition as a formidable alliance capable of securing victory for the president.

The governor said, “In this hall is a gathering of who is who in Osun’s political terrain. We have all the strikers, the defenders and the midfielders. This rainbow coalition of Accord, APC and PDP structures is superbly potent to deliver Osun overwhelmingly to Mr President come January next year.”

He, however, said the coalition was formed specifically to support Tinubu’s re-election, clarifying that members remained free to support candidates of their respective parties in the senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections.

The governor also disclosed that discussions between the federal and Osun state governments on resolving the local government crisis in the state had reached an advanced stage, expressing optimism that a resolution would be reached soon.

He urged political leaders and supporters across the state to set aside past disagreements and unite behind Tinubu.

Also speaking at the inauguration, APC National Secretary, Dr Ajibola Basiru, urged political stakeholders in Osun to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition, regardless of their personal feelings, ambitions or political interests.

Basiru attributed the improved financial capacity of state governments to reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, arguing that the changes had altered the financial circumstances under which states funded development projects.
