Seyi Makinde unmoved by latest cabinet resignations — Commissioner

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde remains entirely unfazed by the recent wave of resignations sweeping through his cabinet, according to the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
Addressing the departure of the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Barrister Ayobami Ojo, Oyelade confirmed that the exit came as no surprise to the state leadership.
The information commissioner revealed in a statement issued on Monday that Governor Makinde experienced a strong sense of déjà vu regarding the high-profile departure, even whilst key supporters felt betrayed.
Despite facing sustained political pressure and intimidation that forced some colleagues to capitulate against their personal will, the governor has steadfastly maintained his composure and core convictions.
Oyelade asserted that no state governor in Nigeria’s political history has ever stood his ground so firmly under such intense external pressure while refusing to compromise his principles.
Quoting the governor directly, the commissioner emphasized that Governor Makinde is sending a clear message to all citizens that conscience is an open wound which only truth can heal.
Furthermore, the administration reassured the residents of Oyo State that cowardice and prevarication are unacceptable traits during such a critical period in the state’s political evolution.
Concluding the statement, Oyelade expressed absolute confidence that ultimate victory over lies, empty promises, and political deceit is imminent through unwavering courage and truth.
