Makinde to present final budget as Oyo governor November 10

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will present the 2027 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 10.

This upcoming fiscal submission marks the final budget proposal of his administration before his tenure concludes in 2027.

The governor officially conveyed his intention to deliver the proposed budget through a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Adebo Ogundoyin.

Read aloud to lawmakers during plenary, the communication confirms that the presentation complies directly with Section 121(1) of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, as amended.

Highlighting the importance of the event, Makinde noted that the 2027 fiscal plan represents a vital opportunity to consolidate the developmental achievements recorded since he took office in 2019.

He emphasized that the bill goes far beyond its immediate financial figures, serving instead as a milestone to reinforce his administration’s legacy of progress and economic stability across the state.

To facilitate the address, the governor requested the speaker and members of the Assembly to schedule the formal presentation for 11:00 a.m.

Following the address, lawmakers will commence legislative consideration of the state’s proposed capital projects, recurrent expenditure, and key financial priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
