ADC faction elects Famojuro as Ogun Chairman

The faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by David Mark has elected Emmanuel Famojuro as the party’s new chairman in Ogun State.
The state executive members emerged through affirmation during the party’s State Congress held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta on Saturday.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Congress Committee, Olatunji Soyinka, presented a harmonised list of executives, noting that it reflected the consensus of party leaders and stakeholders across the state.

Soyinka, a former member of the House of Representatives, subsequently put the list to a voice vote, which was unanimously endorsed by the delegates.

“By the power conferred on me, and based on the list submitted to our committee, I hereby affirm Mr. Emmanuel Famojuro as the new State Chairman,” Soyinka declared.

In his acceptance speech, Famojuro called for unity among party members and assured them of purposeful and result-driven leadership.

He pledged to strengthen the party’s relevance through grassroots mobilisation and inclusive participation, particularly emphasising the roles of youths and women.

“We must work as one family. Youths and women are the backbone of our party,” he said.

Meanwhile, the party’s Deputy National Financial Secretary, Oladimeji Fabiyi, commended the congress committee for fostering peace and unity within the party in Ogun State and urged the newly elected leaders to remain loyal to the party’s ideals rather than individuals.
