Adeleke’s re-election reflects divine will of God, says Oluwo

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election as a reflection of the divine will of God, expressed through the votes of the electorate.

Oba Akanbi, while congratulating Adeleke on his victory, said the outcome also demonstrated the growing participation of youths in governance, particularly in the mobilisation and campaign for the governor’s re-election.

“When God speaks, I listen. When He instructs, I bow. When He commands, I submit,” the monarch said.

He urged Adeleke to align with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying such cooperation would help prevent the state from becoming isolated and attract more development to Osun.

According to him, Osun needs the support of the Federal Government to drive development across its cities, towns and villages, rather than concentrating development in the state capital.

“I have strong hope that aligning with the Federal Government will accelerate and attract more dividends to Osun State and her people,” he said.

The monarch also urged the governor to strengthen his relationship with the grassroots beyond election periods by visiting all local government areas and organising periodic summits, which he referred to as “Apero”.

While congratulating Adeleke, Oba Akanbi urged him to be magnanimous in victory, stressing that he is now the governor of all residents of the state.

“You are the governor of all in the state. Olodumare will bless you with sound health and divine wisdom to constructively manage the state,” the monarch added.
