Alaafin’s coronation features quiz competition in Oyo

As part of the activities marking the coronation of the 46th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade II, intellectual abilities were put to the test on Wednesday when schools in Oyo town participated in a quiz competition.
The quiz was held at the Atiba University Hall, Oyo.

Prominent dignitaries at the event included the LOC chairman, Dr. Kunle Ogunmola; the Statistician of Oyo State, Prince Adekunle Teslim Ajuwon; the Chief of Staff to the Alaafin, Barr. Rotimi Osuntola; the Vice Chancellor of Atiba University, Professor Sunday Olawale Okeniyi; the Rector of the School of Surveying Oyo, Dr. Nihinlola Olayinka-Dosunmu, among others.

Declaring the competition open, the chairman of the occasion, the Statistician General of the Federation, Prince Yemi Adeniran, who was ably represented by the Statistician of Oyo State, Prince Adekunle Teslim Ajuwon, commended the organizers of the event. He noted that the quiz competition would not only celebrate academic excellence but also promote cultural heritage.

Six schools from four local governments — Afijio, Oyo East, Oyo West, and Atiba — competed for the top position.
After a highly competitive contest, Crescent Heights College, Oyo, emerged in third place with a prize of one hundred thousand naira.

Agbooye Baptist College, Oyo, secured second place with a prize of one hundred and fifty thousand naira, while Olivet Baptist Heights College, Oyo, came first, winning a prize of two hundred thousand naira.
