PHOTO NEWS: Ooni, Sultan, Olu of Warri, dignitaries shine at coronation of new Alaafin

Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Sultan of Sokoto Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III were among prominent traditional rulers across Nigeria that graced the coronation of the new Alaafin of Oyo Oba Abimbola Awoade yesterday.
Many excited and happy faces, beautiful attires, radiant colour mixes, music, dance and an artistic display and representation of culture serenaded Oyo town on Saturday as the ancient kingdom gathered to celebrate the coronation of its new Alaafin.


Abimbola Owoade was crowned the 46th Alaafin of Oyo by Seyi Makinde, the state governor, putting an end to 35 months of wait.


Other dignitaries that graced the event that also had other prominent Yoruba indigenes in attendance included Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland; Adebayo Adelabu, minister of power; Zacch Adedeji, the executive chairman of FIRS among others.
