An Akure Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of twin brothers, Eyinloju Taiwo and Eyinloju Kehinde, at the Olokuta Correctional Centre over a case of alleged rape.

The defendants were arraigned by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps, on a four-count charge bordering on rape, abduction and conspiracy.

The prosecuting counsel, O.F. Baba, told the court that the alleged offences were committed on March 12, 2026, between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at Abisi Street, Ikamu Quarters, Oka Akoko, Ondo State.

Baba alleged that the accused persons had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl, identified as Busayo Bakare, without her consent. He further informed the court that the defendants allegedly abducted one Juliet Oke to facilitate the commission of the offence.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 357, 516 and 558 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006, as well as Section 2(iii), punishable under Section 3(ii)(b) of the Ondo State Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Abduction Law, 2010.

Baba added that a remand application, supported by an affidavit, had been filed before the court, seeking the detention of the defendants in a correctional facility pending further proceedings.

Reacting to the development, the defendants’ Counsel, D.S. Omnidougha, however, requested time to respond, urging the court to grant leave to file a counter-affidavit.

In her ruling, the presiding Magistrate, Damilola Sekoni, adjourned the case till April 22, 2026, for the hearing of the remand application.
