Economic reforms drawing global recognition, investment — Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has said his administration’s economic reforms are attracting growing international recognition and investor confidence, assuring Nigerians that the benefits of the policies will become more evident in the coming months.

The President spoke on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, while receiving a delegation of the Aseyori Tinubu research group led by Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim.

Tinubu said the increasing interest of multinational companies in investing and partnering with Nigeria was a reflection of the country’s ongoing reforms and the collective efforts of Nigerians across various sectors.

“The economy of our nation has passed the darkest tunnel. The twists and turns of democracy are there. We will continue to push for improvement. The economic recovery is here, proudly. We are running a very stable economy right now,” the President said.

He also highlighted progress in education, security and economic management, saying the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) had continued to expand following the approval of additional funding from assets recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“We have a production line going on well; we just need to stimulate the economy for growth. We can beat our chests with the bragging rights—no more ASUU strike. Today, our children are in school. The security is getting better, not getting worse,” Tinubu said.

The President urged the research group to continue producing policy ideas that would strengthen Nigeria’s political and economic development.

Addressing Ambassador Ibrahim, Tinubu commended his performance at the United Nations and encouraged him to remain focused on advancing Nigeria’s interests.

“Your capacity is exceedingly reliable, and your performance at the United Nations is very impressive. You have achieved a lot at the UN within a short period. I am very proud of that,” he said.
