Ekiti ADC guber candidate steps down for Oluyede, reaffirms commitment to development
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Ambassador Dare Bejide, has endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
Bejide announced the endorsement on Sunday during a courtesy and solidarity visit to Oluyede, accompanied by party leaders, stakeholders, executives and supporters drawn from across the state.
Speaking during the visit, the ADC candidate said the decision followed extensive consultations with party leaders and supporters, stressing that the party had resolved to support Oluyede’s candidacy in the interest of Ekiti State.
According to him, the endorsement was based on Oluyede’s competence, integrity, leadership qualities and capacity to provide purposeful governance capable of advancing the development of the state.
“I have served the Peoples Democratic Party in various capacities and occupied several strategic positions within the party over the years. Therefore, I understand what it takes to lead and deliver good governance. Having carefully assessed all the contenders, I am convinced that Dr. Oluwole Oluyede possesses the credibility, experience, vision and capacity required to move Ekiti State forward,” Bejide said.
He urged ADC leaders and members across the 16 local government areas of the state to work for the success of the PDP candidate, emphasising that the collective interest of Ekiti people should take precedence over personal and political considerations.
Responding, Oluyede thanked Bejide, the ADC leadership and members for the endorsement, describing it as a major boost to his campaign and a reflection of growing support for his vision for the state.
The PDP candidate pledged to pursue inclusive governance, people-oriented policies and developmental programmes that would positively impact residents across the state, while both parties expressed commitment to working together towards victory at the polls.
