Ekiti APC taps former Governor Segun Oni to unite party after primary elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has constituted a high-level Reconciliation Committee headed by former Governor Segun Oni to address grievances arising from the party’s recently concluded primary elections and strengthen unity ahead of the 2026 governorship poll.
The committee, according to the party, is part of efforts to foster cohesion and ensure a united front as preparations intensify for the next governorship election in the state.
In a statement issued by the APC Publicity Secretary in Ekiti State, Segun Dele Dipe, the committee is scheduled to be formally inaugurated on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the party secretariat in Ajilosun, Ado-Ekiti.
Other members of the committee include former Deputy Governor Prof. Modupe Adelabu, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Stephen Aribasoye, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, Chief Mrs. Ronke Okusanya and Barrister Akinwale Adeyeye, who will serve as secretary.
The party said the committee has been mandated to engage stakeholders across the state, address concerns arising from the primaries and promote harmony, trust and collaboration among members at all levels.
Speaking on the development, APC State Chairman, Olusola Elesin, said the party recognises the contributions of all members and remains committed to resolving differences through dialogue and reconciliation.
He noted that unity remains critical to the party’s success, stressing that the reconciliation process would help consolidate support and strengthen the APC ahead of future electoral contests.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy, inclusiveness and the shared prosperity agenda, expressing confidence that the committee would help strengthen stability and cohesion within its ranks.
