Ex-Osun deputy governor denies defection to APC, reaffirms loyalty to Accord

Former Deputy Governor of Osun State and former Minister of Defence, Chief (Mrs.) Erelu Olusola Obada, has dismissed reports alleging that she has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obada, in a statement issued on Tuesday, described the report as false and urged those behind it to stop spreading misinformation.

“The attention of former Deputy Governor of Osun State and former Minister of Defence, Chief (Mrs.) Erelu Olusola Obada Agbeja, has been drawn to a false report being circulated by members of the opposition claiming that she has joined the APC,” the statement read.

She reaffirmed that she remains a member of the Accord Party and a loyal ally of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The former deputy governor also urged members of the Accord Party and residents of Osun State to remain steadfast ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

She expressed confidence that Governor Adeleke would secure re-election despite what she described as intimidation and harassment by the opposition APC in the state.
