IWD: FCT Minister hails women’s contributions, pledges continued support

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has commended women for their invaluable contributions to society, describing them as pillars of homes and key drivers of societal progress.

In his goodwill message marking International Women’s Day, Wike expressed deep appreciation for the roles women play, particularly those in the FCT. He assured that under his leadership, women would receive the recognition and opportunities they deserve.

A statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, in Milan, Italy, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to empowering women and acknowledging their contributions to family and nation-building.

Wike specifically lauded the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mahmoud Mariya, and the first female Head of Service in the FCT, Grace Adayilo, for their impact. He urged women to continue supporting the government, promising more benefits under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We will keep doing our best to make life more meaningful, especially for the women who are undoubtedly the pillars of our homes,” Wike assured.
