NFF Acting General Secretary Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme urged the Falconets to beat New Caledonia convincingly in their final FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup group match in Poland on Sunday.

“You have a chance to reach the Round of 16. Approach the match with focus and ambition. The goals are important to take us to four points and improve our position,” he told the players after training on Saturday.

The Falconets drew 0-0 with China and must overturn their two-goal deficit from their opening defeat to Spain to advance.

Ikpeme also visited the Flamingos, who will travel on Monday for the WAFU-B U-17 Girls Tournament in Côte d’Ivoire.

He urged them to win the competition as preparation for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Ikpeme also congratulated Rangers International of Enugu on reaching the second round of the CAF Champions League after defeating Sobemap FC of Benin Republic on penalties.

He urged Rivers United, El-Kanemi Warriors and Shooting Stars to show the same spirit in their continental matches.
