Glasgow 2026: Police celebrate Nathaniel’s gold medal

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has congratulated Nigeria Police Force Corporal Ezekiel Nathaniel on his outstanding achievement at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Nathaniel made the nation proud by winning the gold medal in the men’s 400 metres hurdles, delivering a commanding performance that secured one of Nigeria’s most memorable victories at the Games.

Congratulating the athlete, IGP Disu described the achievement as a landmark moment for police officers who successfully combine public service with sporting excellence.

He said Nathaniel’s triumph would inspire officers of the Nigeria Police Force and young athletes across the country to strive for excellence in their respective fields.

“On behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, I congratulate Corporal Ezekiel Nathaniel on his historic gold medal victory in the men’s 400 metres hurdles at the 2026 Commonwealth Games,” the IGP said.

“You have shown the world that our officers excel both in service and in sport. The Nigeria Police Force is proud of you and celebrates this outstanding achievement, which has brought honour to the Force and to our great nation.”
