Governor Sanwo-Olu receives British-Nigerian filmmaker David Oyelowo in Lagos

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday hosted British-Nigerian actor and filmmaker David Oyelowo at Lagos House, Marina.

The governor, who announced the visit on his social media pages, said the meeting was aimed at strengthening the creative sector and further positioning Lagos as a leading hub for talent and innovation.

Providing details of the engagement, Sanwo-Olu said the discussion focused on the future of storytelling, talent development and innovation within the creative ecosystem.

In his words, “I received Nigerian-British actor, director and producer David Oyelowo on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.

“We had a warm conversation about the creative industry, storytelling and the opportunities that continue to position Lagos as a leading hub for talent and innovation.”

Oyelowo, who is renowned for promoting African stories on the global stage, has built a successful acting career spanning film, television and theatre. He is best known for his roles in Selma, Queen of Katwe and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
