ISDGS alumni elect new national executive

The Ijebu Southern District Grammar School Old Students Association, Ala-Ijebu (ISDGSOSA), has elected a new national executive to oversee the affairs of the association for the next two years.

The election was held during the association’s National Executive Election at the school hall in Ala-Ijebu, Ogun State, on Saturday, Aug. 1, according to a statement issued on Monday by the National President, Mrs. Adesimbo Peters, and the National Publicity Secretary, Prince Temitope Ogunbanke.

Mrs. Adesimbo Peters was elected president, while Mr. Oladele Ogunnaike and Dr. Yusuf Adebayo emerged as first and second vice presidents, respectively. Chief Sunmola Alowonle was elected general secretary, Mrs. Oluwakemi Soyemi assistant general secretary, and Prince Temitope Ogunbanke national publicity secretary.

Other elected officers are Mr. Olawale Odunnaike as national treasurer, Mrs. Abisola Kolawole as auditor I, Mrs. Nuratu Adebogun as auditor II, Alhaja Monsurat Lawal as national financial secretary, and Mrs. Bolanle Balogun as national social secretary.

In her acceptance remarks, Peters pledged that the new executive would work diligently to promote the growth and development of both the association and Ijebu Southern District Grammar School, Ala-Ijebu.

She said her administration would prioritize unity among members while giving back to the alma mater through improved infrastructure and initiatives aimed at supporting students’ academic success.

Meanwhile, the ISDGSOSA National Electoral Committee congratulated the newly elected officers, describing the election as a credible process that reflected the confidence reposed in them by the delegates.

The committee’s Chairman, Chief Joseph Odufuwa, and Secretary, Alhaji Rahmon Olusada, urged the new executive to justify the trust placed in them by providing purposeful leadership and advancing the objectives of the association.
