JUST IN: President Tinubu to deliver nationwide broadcast on Democracy Day

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a nationwide broadcast on Friday, June 12, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the address is scheduled to air at 7:00 a.m.

The statement said the broadcast will be transmitted on the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).

It added that all television and radio stations across the country have been requested to link up with the live transmission.

Democracy Day is observed annually on June 12 to commemorate Nigeria’s democratic journey and honour the struggles of pro-democracy activists, especially the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola.

The presidential address is expected to highlight key national issues and the administration’s position on the state of the nation.
