McPherson University eligible to run law, nine other programmes- VC Igbasan
The Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Francis Igbasan, has announced that the institution has secured full accreditation for 10 undergraduate programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Speaking to the university community, Igbasan described the development as a major milestone that underscores the institution’s steady pursuit of academic excellence.
He explained that the approval was conveyed in a letter signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Commission’s Executive Secretary.
According to him, the accreditation followed a rigorous assessment exercise conducted by teams from the Commission during their visits to the university in October and November 2025.
He further disclosed that the programmes granted full accreditation include Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Public Health, History and Diplomatic Studies, Information Technology, Law, Biotechnology, and Economics.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the accreditation, which is valid for five years, reflects the university’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards.
He commended members of staff for their dedication and hard work, stating that their collective efforts were instrumental to the successful outcome of the exercise.
Igbasan added that the university would continue to strengthen its teaching, research, and infrastructure to sustain the momentum and further enhance its contribution to national development.
