NEC decisions must translate into jobs and better living conditions for Nigerians — Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has charged members of the National Economic Council (NEC) to ensure that policy decisions taken at the highest levels of government translate into visible improvements in the daily lives of Nigerians.

“The decisions we make here must translate into visible improvements in the daily lives of all Nigerians — in jobs created, businesses supported, roads constructed, schools strengthened, healthcare improved, and opportunities expanded,” the President said.

Tinubu made the call on Tuesday in Abuja in his closing remarks at the second edition of the National Economic Council Conference held at the State House Conference Hall. He spoke through the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The two-day conference was themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable National Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.”

The President said the Renewed Hope Agenda was not a slogan but a national commitment that demands concrete action, urging all levels of government to move beyond dialogue to measurable delivery.

He assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to ensuring that the dividends of ongoing reforms are felt across every state and community, adding that sub-national governments would continue to receive support to deepen institutional reforms and accelerate development outcomes.

“Our administration remains resolute. We will continue to support sub-national governments, deepen institutional reforms, and ensure that the dividends of our policies are felt across every state and every community in this country,” he said.

Tinubu emphasised that reforms are a continuous process requiring courage, patience and consistency, and stressed the importance of unity of purpose, fiscal discipline and coordinated action among federal, state and local governments.
