Nigerian Professor Adeola takes top spot as Rwanda’s business, management researcher
Nigerian academic, Professor Ogechi Adeola, has been named among Rwanda’s Top 10 Scientists in the 2026 AD Scientific Index, earning recognition as the country’s highest-ranked researcher in the field of Business and Management.
Adeola, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) at the University of Kigali, received the recognition for her outstanding research output and scholarly impact, further strengthening her profile as one of Africa’s leading academics.
The latest honour comes months after she was listed among the Stanford–Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists for 2025, underscoring her growing international reputation for research excellence.
Announcing the achievement in a statement on Wednesday, the University of Kigali said Adeola’s ranking reflects her sustained commitment to research, innovation and academic leadership.
“Professor Adeola’s achievements exemplify the transformative role of research, innovation and academic leadership in advancing knowledge and addressing societal challenges,” the university said.
The institution noted that her research continues to raise the university’s international profile while making significant contributions to scholarship in Rwanda, across Africa and globally.
According to the university, the AD Scientific Index assesses the scientific performance and academic impact of more than 2.6 million researchers from about 24,000 institutions across 221 countries, ranking scholars based on the influence and consistency of their research output.
The University of Kigali congratulated Adeola on the recognition, describing it as a significant milestone that highlights her contribution to academia and reinforces the institution’s standing in the global research community.
