Omisore dumps political structure, backs Adeleke ahead of Osun guber poll

Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Iyiola Omisore, has announced the realignment of his political structure across Osun State in support of Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Omisore said the decision was taken in the interest of stability, unity and development in Osun State, adding that his network of supporters had been fully mobilised to back the incumbent governor’s reelection bid.
“As we move toward the August 15 gubernatorial election, our position is clear, our structure is united, and our support is total. Osun is moving forward,” Omisore said, signalling his formal endorsement of Adeleke’s campaign.
Meanwhile, Adeleke has commenced his reelection campaign with a large turnout at Freedom Park in Osogbo, where he assured supporters of victory and dismissed concerns over recent court rulings affecting political parties.
The governor maintained that legal challenges would not derail his ambition, insisting that the Accord Party remains validly on the ballot and urging supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation across polling units in the state.
The campaign event also witnessed the defection of some Omisore loyalists to the ruling camp, further strengthening Adeleke’s political base ahead of the poll.
