Ondo APC targets one million votes for Tinubu in 2027

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set a target of one million votes for President Bola Tinubu and other party candidates in the 2027 general elections following the completion of ward meetings across the state.

The party said the meetings, held in all 203 wards, were aimed at strengthening its grassroots structures, promoting unity among members and mobilising support ahead of the elections.

The APC Publicity Secretary in Ondo State, Otunba Muyide Adeyeluwa, said the exercise followed a directive by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the party’s leader in the state, as part of efforts to prepare for the 2027 polls.

Meanwhile, the state chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, commended members for their participation, describing the turnout as encouraging despite the meetings being held on weekdays.

Babatunde also praised Aiyedatiwa for promoting unity within the party and directing elected officials and political appointees to participate in the meetings. The governor attended his ward meeting in Ilaje Local Government Area.

The chairman further acknowledged the logistical support provided to facilitate members’ participation, particularly those who travelled long distances to attend the gatherings.

He said the ward meetings would become a regular feature of the party’s mobilisation efforts until the 2027 elections. Babatunde added that he would meet with Aiyedatiwa during the week to present feedback from the 203 wards and discuss subsequent engagements.

The Ondo APC reaffirmed its commitment to working with the governor to mobilise voters across the state, saying sustained grassroots engagement would be central to achieving its target of one million votes for Tinubu and securing victory for other party candidates.
