Owo monarch lauds conversion of Rufus Giwa polytechnic to university 

…describes it as a welcome development, new dawn for learning

The Olowo of Owo and Paramount Ruler of Owo Land, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, has expressed sincere appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa over the approval of conversion of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo to a University.

In a statement released by his Special Assistant Media, Sam Adewale, Oba Ogunoye disclosed that the change in the status of the Institution was a welcome development, and wholeheartedly supported by the people of the kingdom.

The monarch pointed out that the conversion would forever change the trajectory of the educational landscape in the kingdom, Ondo State and Nigeria in general.

He added that the polytechnic was cherished as an institution that had long served and being the cornerstone of learning, but now upgraded to a university to the admiration of all and a reflection of the unwavering commitment and foresight of the governor.

He emphasized that the new University would pave the way for advanced learning and research thereby equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.

He stated that the upgrade also signifies commitment to economic growth and development within the State.

The monarch said that with sincere hearts, the people of the kingdom expressed appreciation with a collective pledge to be a pillar of support for the governor’s vision for the State.
