The Oyo State Police Command has called on residents to help identify a woman whose body was discovered in Egbeda Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, the corpse was first reported on Saturday, March 14, by a resident who found it near a car wash stand at Ile Marun on Iwo Road, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
Ayanlade stated that a team of police operatives quickly responded to the alarm and discovered the woman’s body inside a drainage channel with visible head injuries, indicating possible foul play.
Photographs of the sight were taken, and the body was subsequently moved to Adeoyo State Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
According to reliable sources, the police has launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding her death.
The command appealed to anyone with information, especially those with missing female relatives, to report to the Egbeda Divisional Police Headquarters or the nearest police station to aid the investigation.
Ayanlade assured the public that the police are committed to uncovering the facts and bringing any responsible persons to justice.
Residents have equally been cautioned to remain vigilant and provide credible information to support the police in maintaining safety and security across Oyo State.
