Former governors of Ekiti State — Kayode Fayemi, Segun Oni, Ayo Fayose and Niyi Adebayo — on Monday joined other party leaders and supporters in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, to mobilise support for the second-term re-election bid of Governor Abiodun Oyebanji.
The flag-off of the campaign was declared by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Yetwalda Nentawe, alongside the Chairman of the Campaign Council and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, the Campaign Director-General, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and other party leaders from within and outside the state. Also in attendance were the Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, and Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Speaking on the campaign rally, Fayemi wrote on social media:
“It was a delight to join party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters at the APC/BAO Governorship Campaign Flag-Off in Ado Ekiti.”
“Seeing the broad coalition of leaders and members come together in support of Governor Biodun Oyebanji was reassuring. It speaks to the strength of the foundation we have built over the years and the shared understanding that unity remains our greatest asset as a party.”

Fayemi affirmed that the governor had justified the confidence reposed in him, noting that his leadership had been steady and inclusive in driving development.
He also stressed the importance of discipline, unity and collective commitment within the party as preparations for the election continue.
