President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday commissioned major infrastructure and economic development projects in Ekiti State, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening anti-corruption institutions, promoting innovation and improving public infrastructure.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima during a one-day working visit to the state, the President inaugurated the new zonal directorate office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ado-Ekiti and commissioned the 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi.

Shettima also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ), a project designed to drive technology, innovation and investment in the state.

Speaking at the commissioning of the EFCC office, Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to fighting corruption, warning that public officials involved in corrupt practices would face the full weight of the law.

“The message is clear: there are no hiding places for the corrupt. Nigeria will not tolerate graft, and such conduct will be punished under our laws,” the President said.

Tinubu described the new EFCC facility as a strategic investment in institutional capacity, public trust and national development, stressing that anti-corruption efforts require strong institutions and adequate operational support.

“Nigeria’s future rests on the strength of the institutions we build and the faith we invest in them. No nation can rise above the integrity of its public systems because development is defeated when corruption is allowed to stand between citizens and the promises of the state,” he stated.

The President said his administration would continue to strengthen anti-graft agencies and implement fiscal reforms aimed at improving transparency, restoring investor confidence and stabilising the economy.
