President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup (Ajimoko III) on his official coronation as the new Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijeshaland.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Oba Haastrup’s distinguished journey from politics to business, and now to traditional leadership, describing it as a testament to “his leadership abilities, character, and commitment to our traditional institutions.”
Oba Haastrup, a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, later transitioned into a successful career in business and real estate development before ascending the throne.
President Tinubu expressed full confidence in the new monarch’s capacity to bring progress and unity to Ijeshaland.
“His pedigree has rekindled my confidence that he will record even greater success now that he is on the throne of his forebears,” the President stated.
He urged the monarch to continue upholding the enduring values of Yoruba tradition and to serve as a beacon of unity and harmony across Ijeshaland, Osun State, and the nation.
The President also offered prayers for divine guidance and wisdom for Oba Haastrup as he begins his reign, expressing hope that the legacy of the Ijesha royal lineage will flourish under his leadership.
