Vice President Kashim Shettima says President Bola Tinubu is committed to unlocking Nigeria’s full potential through bold economic reforms and a strong focus on human capital development.

Speaking during a visit by a delegation from Berlin’s Hertie School of Governance, led by Senior Fellow Dr. Rolf Alter, Shettima emphasized the importance of strategic international partnerships in advancing governance and policy capacity.

“The current leadership under President Tinubu is ready to unleash Nigeria’s full potential through strategic reforms, with human capital development at the core,” Shettima said at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He praised the Hertie School’s expertise in public policy, calling it a valuable partner in navigating global challenges. Shettima also highlighted the government’s Human Capital Development 2.0 programme, supported by the World Bank, EU, and Gates Foundation, as key to transforming Nigeria’s demographic strength into economic growth.

The Vice President defended the removal of fuel subsidies and reforms in the foreign exchange market, describing them as tough but necessary measures. “At the end of the day, Nigerians will reap the benefits,” he said.

Dr. Alter lauded the administration’s human development strategy and pledged deeper collaboration with Nigerian institutions.
