Tinubu mourns victims of terrorist attack in Borno community

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to families affected by the recent terrorist attack on the Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area.

The attack, reportedly carried out by insurgents linked to Boko Haram, occurred in Ngoshe, a community within Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President lamented the loss of innocent lives, including military personnel.

Tinubu also acknowledged that some individuals were caught in friendly fire during an aerial operation carried out by the Nigerian Air Force while attempting to intercept fleeing terrorists.

The President described the attack as a “heartless assault” on innocent citizens and urged residents of Borno and other parts of the country not to give in to fear.

He commended the military for its swift response to the incident, which he said resulted in the killing of several terrorists and forced others to retreat.

Tinubu also directed the military and other security agencies to urgently work toward rescuing those kidnapped during the attack.

The President further instructed the armed forces to intensify efforts to protect civilians across the country and prevent attacks on military installations in the North-East.
