Obasa urges states to back First Lady’s programmes for women, youths

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on state governments across the country to support the ongoing developmental interventions championed by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.

He noted that such programmes will benefit vulnerable women and youths nationwide.

Obasa made the call while speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting with the First Lady at the State House in Abuja, according to a statement by Busola Kukoyi, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady.

He said the interventions being implemented through the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative are already making a positive impact on the lives of the less privileged, particularly women and young people.

According to him, with adequate backing from governments at subnational levels, the programmes have the potential to reach more vulnerable groups and contribute significantly to sustainable development across the country.

The Lagos Assembly Speaker urged state governments to leverage the momentum created by the initiative to strengthen social support systems and expand opportunities for citizens.

Obasa also noted that his visit to the First Lady was to extend warm regards during the overlapping observance of Ramadan and Lent.
