UPDATED: Dangote Refinery contains fire at effluent treatment plant

The management of Dangote Refinery said that has contained minor fire at its effluent treatment plant.

WESTERN POST had report that there was a fire outbreak at a section of Dangote Refinery located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, on Wednesday, revealing that the sound of an explosion can be heard in a viral video footage.

Responding, Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, Anthony Chiejina in a statement said, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.

“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty.”
