We won’t disappoint Kwara residents, APC’s Danladi vows ahead of elections

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Yakubu Danladi Salihu, has assured residents that he and other party candidates will not disappoint them if elected in the 2027 general elections.

Danladi gave the assurance on Monday as the APC concluded its three-day thank-you tour of Kwara South with visits to Isin and Ifelodun local government areas. The delegation had earlier visited Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Oyun, Offa and Irepodun local government areas, where they were received by traditional rulers and party stakeholders.

Speaking in Igbaja, the Elese of Igbaja, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo III, described Danladi’s emergence as the APC governorship candidate as divinely ordained and urged residents to support his ambition. He also commended President Bola Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and APC leaders for zoning the governorship to Igbomina after previous turns by Ekiti and Ibolo, describing the decision as fair and equitable.

Similarly, the Olusin of Isanlu-Isin and Chairman of the Isin Local Government Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Olugbenga Oloyede (Atobatele II), said the community had benefited significantly from the APC-led administration and would reciprocate by supporting the party at the polls.

Responding, Danladi thanked the traditional rulers, religious leaders and residents for their continued support of the APC, saying the party remained committed to sustaining the achievements of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration.

He said the visit was organised to appreciate stakeholders after the party primaries and the submission of candidates’ names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stressing that the APC would continue to engage with the people even before the commencement of campaigns.

Also speaking, the APC senatorial candidate for Kwara South, Prince Lekan Adewoye, said the large turnout of supporters during the visit reflected the strong backing the party enjoys in Isin and other parts of the district. House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Florence Olasumbo Oyeyemi, thanked party members for their loyalty and pledged to serve the people faithfully if elected.

The APC candidate for Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Rafiu Ajakaye, said the pre-campaign tour was organised to appreciate traditional rulers and stakeholders for their support, while supporters at the various meetings expressed confidence in Danladi’s leadership and pledged to back the party in the 2027 elections.
